Music Week- Garth Brooks

Can anyone grow up in Texas and not love Garth Brooks? I think not. I remember being in 3rd grade and listening to the radio hoping to catch Rodeo or The River. I know this man is confused in his personal life. Dropping country music at the height of his career to become Chris Gaines was a rough spot for me. My favorite thing to do was to clean the house or get ready for school listening to his music. I could put my all into singing along and not get bored with what I was really doing.

I am not alone in my love for this music. Garth Brooks is the #1 selling artist of all time passing Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley.

Here are the lyrics for The Thunder Rolls-- classic:

Three thirty in the morning
Not a soul insight
The city's lookin' like a ghost town
On a moonless summer night
Raindrops on the windshield
There's a storm moving in
He's headin' back from somewhere
That he never should have been
And the thunder rolls
And the thunder rolls
Every light is burnin'
In a house across town
She's pacin' by the telephone
In her faded flannel gown
Askin' for miracle
Hopin' she's not right
Prayin' it's the weather
That's kept him out all night
And the thunder rolls
And the thunder rolls

The thunder rolls
And the lightnin' strikes
Another love grows cold
On a sleepless night
As the storm blows on
Out of control
Deep in her heart
The thunder rolls

She's waitin' by the window
When he pulls into the drive
She rushes out to hold him
Thankful he's alive
But on the wind and rain
A strange new perfume blows
And the lightnin' flashes in her eyes
And he knows that she knows
And the thunder rolls
And the thunder rolls

The thunder rolls
And the lightnin' strikes
Another love grows cold
On a sleepless night
As the storm blows on
Out of control
Deep in her heart
The thunder rolls

[3rd Verse:]

She runs back down the hallway
To the bedroom door
She reaches for the pistol
Kept in the dresser drawer
Tells the lady in the mirror
He won't do this again
Cause tonight will be the last time
She'll wonder where he's been

And a little happier If Tomorrow Never Comes.

Sometimes late at night
I lie awake and watch her sleeping
She's lost in peaceful dreams
So I turn out the lights and lay there in the dark
And the thought crosses my mind
If I never wake up in the morning
Would she ever doubt the way I feel
About her in my heart
If tomorrow never comes
Will she know how much I loved her
Did I try in every way to show her every day
That she's my only one
And if my time on earth were through
And she must face the world without me
Is the love I gave her in the past
Gonna be enough to last
If tomorrow never comes
'Cause I've lost loved ones in my life
Who never knew how much I loved them
Now I live with the regret
That my true feelings for them never were revealed
So I made a promise to myself
To say each day how much she means to me
And avoid that circumstance
Where there's no second chance to tell her how I feel
If tomorrow never comes
Will she know how much I loved her
Did I try in every way to show her every day
That she's my only one
And if my time on earth were through
And she must face the world without me
Is the love I gave her in the past
Gonna be enough to last
If tomorrow never comes
So tell that someone that you love
Just what you're thinking of
If tomorrow never comes

Greatness. Apparently he has a thing about copyrighting his music videos, not liking youtube, and not putting songs on i-tunes. So, here is what I got. Which is not a lot.

  1. Hi Faith!

I'm so glad to see someone else who likes country music...all of my college friends did but Ryan does NOT, being from New York. So I am seriously lacking in fellow country music fans in Cville. Glad I'm not the only one :)
