Last minute side dish?

Looking for a last minute side dish to take to the Thanksgiving gathering? Here is a recipe that a friend gave to me a few years ago. It's a new take on the green bean casserole. It's very yummy. I like the corn flakes instead of onions.

Green Beans Supreme

1/2 tsp. grated onion
2 T butter
2 T flour
1/2 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
dash pepper
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup sour cream
2 (1 lb.) cans cut green beans, drained
4 oz. processed Swiss cheese, shredded (1 cup)
1/3 cup cornflake crumbs
1 T butter, melted

In skillet, slightly cook onion in butter (or margarine), about 1 min. Blend in flour, sugar, salt, and pepper. Add milk all at once and cook till thick and bubbly. Remove from heat; stir in sour cream. Add beans. Spread one-third of the bean mixture in 1 qt. casserole. Sprinkle one-half the Swiss cheese over beans; repeat layers, ending with beans. Combine cornflake crumbs and melted butter; toss until well mixed. Top beans with cornflake mixture. Bake in hot over (400 degrees) for 20 minutes. Makes 8

I promise I am not becoming the recipe blogging lady- but this time of year does inspire me to want to cook!
