Why am I such a slacker?
I checked out this Francine Rivers novella this summer from our local public library. It is about 130 pages and a quick read. I checked it out in July and have still not finished or returned it.
I read a few pages on the plane in August when I went to visit my grandma- but ended up talking with the guy next to me for the duration of the flight instead of finishing the book. He was a really nice guy and I enjoyed our conversation.
Why have I not finished it? The only conclusion I can think of is that I have slacked off when it comes to reading lately. Unless it is my Bible, I have not been reading other things.
I received a notice a few weeks ago that the book was overdue. Duh.
I received a notice today that the book is now mine and I have to pay for it.
This makes me sad because:
1- Jason will not be very happy
2- Someone else cannot check it out and read about the gospel in a historical fiction novel.
3- I am a slacker
So, I am now $20 poorer and an official slacker.
At least it's Friday. :)

You are too hard on yourself! It's not like you haven't been busy with many other duties and priorities. Re-think how you can carve out 20-30 minutes each day for a little slice of "you" time to devote to something you enjoy! Don't let go of that - it will stand you in good stead when your plate becomes full with children & school plays, soccer team practice, meal planning, taxi driving, etc.! You can't keep giving without recharging!
