This is a pic of the guys on project fighting the many wasps that had infested our common area. This was cheaper than an exterminator. Jason is the one with the tennis racket. You can see the comb over. Yuck.
Jason started to pay closer attention to me. He was seeking me out to have conversations with me and (gasp) waiting for me to eat dinner with. A friend asked if I liked him, because she thought he liked me. I said-- I'm one of the only girls he will talk to, we're just friends. I didn't see it. Then, after she said something I started to. Then, I started to have feelings for him to. He was a guy I could see myself dating. Quality- thoughtful, respectful, funny, a man with integrity, a hardworker, and a friend. Plus, now he was cute.
It was 5 days before our project ended and we were scheduled to leave. I was going back to Texas and Jason was going back to Virginia. We had a going away banquet where the staff came back and we all started to say goodbye. The following days would be full of packing up and cleaning the hotel, reflecting on the summer, and packing our cars for the long drive home.
Jason, on day 5 before we left, asked to talk with me that night. He told me that he had feelings for me and he wanted to start dating me. He was very nervous. I told him that I would love to start dating him too. The next night, we went on our first date. Then the next few days were crazy- but we would stay up late talking. We left for home a few days later.
I remember telling my mom about Jason when I got home. I remember telling her that he was someone I could marry. Now, 7 years later, here we are.
Here is a pic of us on one of my many trips to visit Jason in Virginia when we were dating. :)
What a beautiful story! I never heard it with these details, so it was new for me! Thanks for sharing!
