We're building a house!

So, as many of you know, Jason and I have been house hunting. Soon after starting, I learned that it is not as glamorous as the show House Hunters or Property Virgins.

Many of the homes that we looked at in C'ville in our price range were very gross. Some were nice but lacked one of the three things we were looking for: a dishwasher, a dining room, and more than one bathroom. Granted we were expecting to look at houses for quite some time.

We looked for about a month until we found out our personality lended itself more to new construction. Shortly after we found a house that was in our pricerange and included all three of the abovementioned things. We met with the builder and asked him to change the floorplan a little (like a double sink in the master bath, attic space, and an extra closet in the master bedroom). He agreed and said he could be done in July and we could close in August. We were hoping to close in August. So, we put in an offer and the builder accepted.

We feel very blessed to be able to buy a home, much less build a home. And to add to all of that blessing, this is our first home. We know that Jesus loves us and He is outdoing Himself with the house blessing, but we will gladly accept it. We are so thankful that we are able to do this.

It was suggested to me that we take pictures during the building process to document the occasion. I decided that sounded like a great idea. So, I went over this afternoon and found the foundation guys digging this huge hole.

I wanted to take a picture of the 2 very nice guys building the foundation- Brian and Johnathon- but I thought that might be awkward. So, no pic of them.

I will post more pics as I take them. Very exciting!
