The Best Moms I Know

There are 3 very special ladies in my life that are the best moms... Allow me to introduce you to them.

Mom #3- Jaya Birdwell
Although Jaya is due to have Neela at any moment, she is already a wonderful Mom. She has prepared so well for this little one- buying stuff, being a great encourager of community in her parents and in-laws family. She has prayed for this little girl and written down things God is revealing to her to share with little Neela. Neela is a loved little girl. I can't wait to actually see her in action as a Mom. I think I will learn a lot from her.

When I think of Moses' mom, I think of Jaya. Moses' mom had a ton of faith- to put her baby in that water and have faith that he would be saved. I think Jaya has that kind of faith.

Mom #2- Patty Vandever
Patty is not my real mom, but she is the next best thing. She has been a wonderful mother-in-law these last 4 years. She has supported Jason and I in our marriage and loved us extremely well. She is a woman that really cares about the people around her- especially her family. I have learned a lot about what it means to support your family members with your gifts from watching her do this. We are blessed to be her kids!

(This is a pic of Patty receiving the "Golden Apple" Award. She received it for her excellence in teaching. A teacher is selected from each school in Charlottesville each year, and she was recognized this year!)

I think of Tabitha in Acts when I think of Patty. She is a woman who gives with her giftings. Everyone around her is blessed as a result.

Mom #1- Clare Watkins

Don't let the name confuse you. This lady is my real, bonified mom. She is my flesh and blood. I could not be any prouder to be someone's daughter. My mom has taught me so much! She has not only taught me outward things like how to drive, or cook, or shave my legs- she has taught me about things of the heart. She was always imparting wisdom on me, praying for me- I'm sure she has prayed for me today! I learned what is important in life from her, what to take seriously, and what to brush off. She made this verse come to life for me: 2nd Corinthinas 4:16So we do not lose heart.(AJ) Though our outer self[c] is wasting away,(AK) our inner self(AL) is being renewed day by day. 17For(AM) this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, 18(AN) as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.

I know that I am loved, just because I am her daughter not by what I do. She is an amazing woman- reflecting our Savior's love and the depth of it to me and my brothers. We are blessed!

When I think of my Mom I think of Christ and His love for me.

  1. Faith, you are so sweet and I don't deserve this post. I am so thankful for your constant encouragement. We need to talk soon. Neela needs to hear her Faith Aunty's voice. :)
