Roseola- Ever Heard of it?

Ethan just got over something called Roseola. Apparently it's an illness that most toddlers get in their lifetime. It starts off with a fever for a few days-- and sometimes seizures, followed by a low temperature but extreme fatigue, runny nose and coughing. Then at the end your child gets a minor rash all over their trunk (that's the chest and back in case you're wondering). When the rash appears and the illness is almost over, you know that it is Roseola. And you can't do anything for it. No medicine-except tylenol, no anything.

And did I mention the irritability? That's what the article we read said. Jason and I agreed that it should be called something much stronger than "irritability". Our happy go lucky child may have turned into a little monster of grumpiness. It was ugly. We went days where he just wanted us to hold him and let him wipe his snot on our shoulders. This is a little challenging when you are 7 1/2 months pregnant. :) We had a few rough moments where he just laid on the floor and screamed and refused to be held or fed or put to sleep. We had a couple of nights where he woke up repeatedly and cried and cried and we rocked and rocked. It was rough.

Now, he is feeling better. I am so glad. Ethan is back to his happy, laughing self. Happy to play with his toys, happy to eat food, happy to help mom and dad around the house. Happy. It's so nice to have him back. We're just working on the hacking cough that is lingering. Hopefully that will go away soon.
